Vick loses deal with AirTran Airways (AP)
AirTran Airways has ended its relationship with Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, who has been a pitchman for the airline since 2004, but whose image has been tarnished in several off-field incidents. “Michael’s contract expired May 8, and we decided to go in another direction,” AirTran spokesman Tad Hutcheson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday.

Coach sent sex video to Goodell, others (AP)
Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Larry Zierlein apologized Thursday for accidentally e-mailing an explicit sex video to numerous NFL employees, including league commissioner Roger Goodell. Zierlein said the incident has been difficult for him and his family and that he intends to use his team-issued computer only for football business from now on.

NFL strike mediator Kagel dead at 98 (AP)
Sam Kagel, the mediator who helped resolve the 1982 NFL strike, has died. He was 98. He died May 21 in San Francisco of old age, his son, John Kagel, said Thursday. Sam Kagel was a prominent labor mediator and arbitrator whose career dated to dockworker strikes in the 1930s, but he was best known for his involvement with the NFL.

Jets CB Miller apologizes for arrest (AP)

McNair’s DUI case reset for July 10 (AP)
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair faces a July 10 court date on a driving under the influence charge. The quarterback was not in court Wednesday when the new date was set in an agreement between prosecutors and lawyers. “He wanted this resolved,” said McNair’s lawyer, Roger May. Ryan said there is an offer to prosecutors to settle the case without going to court.
