Giants notch 12 sacks, beat Eagles 16-3 (AP)
With Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor on the sidelines as an honorary captain, it was appropriate that the New York Giants sacked the Philadelphia Eagles unmercifully. Osi Umenyiora had a team-record six sacks and the Giants (2-2) set a franchise record and tied a league record by sacking Donovan McNabb 12 times in a 16-3 victory that brought back memories of the New York’s Super Bowl days.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were beaten Sunday at their own game by their old offensive coordinator and might-have-been head coach. Rookie Steve Breaston returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown and the Arizona Cardinals’ defense shut down Pittsburgh’s high-scoring offense most of the day to hand the Steelers their first loss, 21-14.

Chiefs score 24 straight, shock Chargers (AP)
This was the game when the San Diego Chargers were supposed to get better. They didn’t. In fact, they look a whole lot worse.
