Redskins LT Samuels done for season (AP)
Washington Redskins left tackle Chris Samuels is out for the season, and linebacker H.B. Blades and cornerback Byron Westbrook are recovering from knee surgery. The Redskins made the expected move of placing six-time Pro Bowl lineman Samuels on injured reserve Saturday. Samuels has a chronic spinal condition and will decide in a few months whether to return next season or retire.

N.F.L. ROUNDUP; Goodell To Testify On Vikings Suspensions
N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell is returning to Capitol Hill next week, this time to testify about the case of two players whose suspensions for violating the league’s antidoping policy were blocked by a federal court. Goodell and DeMaurice Smith, executive director of the players union, are among the witnesses scheduled to appear before a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on Tuesday, according to a witness list.

Agent: Chiefs, Johnson, Reach Agreement
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Larry Johnson’s agent said he and the Kansas City Chiefs agreed Saturday night to cut the running back’s two-week suspension in half, saving him more than $300,000.

CB Trufant, LB Hill to rejoin Seahawks (AP)
Marcus Trufant will make his season debut for the Seahawks on Sunday at Dallas. Seattle activated the 2007 Pro Bowl cornerback from the physically-unable-to-perform list Friday. Last week was the first time Trufant had practiced since July, when a disk issue in his back began. Coach Jim Mora expects Trufant to play mainly in nickel defensive alignments on passing downs against the Cowboys.

Vikings CB Winfield to miss Packers game (AP)
The Minnesota Vikings will be without Pro Bowl cornerback Antoine Winfield when they face the Green Bay Packers in a pivotal NFC North game on Sunday. Winfield was listed as out in Friday's injury report. He also missed last week's game against Pittsburgh because of the injured right foot. Cardinals avoid TV blackout vs. Panthers (AP)
The Arizona Cardinals' game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday has sold out. After the NFL gave the defending NFC champions a 24-hour extension on the television blackout deadline, the Cardinals announced the sellout Friday. The Cardinals said they had just under 1,000 tickets remaining Thursday and the NFL extended the deadline.

Giants WR Manningham misses practice (AP)
New York Giants receiver Mario Manningham missed practice on Friday with an injured left shoulder. Manningham hurt the shoulder on the final play of practice on Thursday. He was held out of the team's final workout for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles as a precaution. "They thought it was better if he just not work today," coach Tom Coughlin said.

N.F.L. ROUNDUP; Winless Titans Giving Young a Second Shot as a Starter
The winless Tennessee Titans are switching from the veteran quarterback Kerry Collins back to Vince Young. Coach Jeff Fisher announced the expected move Thursday after practice. He said it was an organizational decision — a result of the Titans’ 0-6 start — and added that he would not play musical chairs with the position. ” We’re in a unique situation,” Fisher said. ”We wouldn’t be having this conversation if we were 3-3.”
